The Boston Herald reports that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has recruited veteran New Hampshire Republican activist Wayne Semprini to lead campaign operations in the key first-in-the-nation-primary state. Giuliani spent the weekend in New Hampshire making campaign-style speeches. Semprini was the state Republican Party chairman until Saturday. He has been involved in New Hampshire politics since 1972. Giulani has hired other key staff in New Hampshire, including Semprini's son Jeff, who will be Giuliani’s regional field director and youth and college outreach coordinator, along with veteran GOP activist David Tille as his political director in the state, and Chris Wood, a veteran of Steve Forbes’ and Pat Buchanan’s campaigns, who will lead coalition-building efforts there.
And while I'm on the subject of Giuliani's campaign staff hires, I should mention a great hire he made a week or so ago, that of Patrick Ruffini to be his e-campaign adviser. Ruffini was web master for President Bush's 2004 reelection campaign and then served as eCampaign Director for the Republican National Committee during the 2006 cycle. He's is one of the best in the biz.
