The pro-Mitt Romney blog MyManMitt has posted the full audio/video of Romney's recent speech in Israel regarding how to address the Iranian threat. You can find the link here. The blog also mentions something I didn't know before about Romney: he has served on the federal Homeland Security Advisory Council, chairing its working group on intelligence and information sharing. For my money, one of the coolest - and most morally correct - things Romney ever did as governor of Massachusetts was when he ordered all Massachusetts state government agencies to decline support, if asked, for former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami’s September 10 visit to the Boston area to speak at Harvard University.
Said Romney, "State taxpayers should not be providing special treatment to an individual who supports violent jihad and the destruction of Israel."
Romney also criticized Harvard for honoring Khatami by inviting him to speak, calling it "a disgrace to the memory of all Americans who have lost their lives at the hands of extremists, especially on the eve of the five-year anniversary of 9/11."
Romney may have trouble winning the hearts of social conservatives, but he's sounding all the right notes on the issue of battling Islamist radicals and terrorists and defeating the Iranian threat.
