The Arizona Republic reports that the Arizona Republican Party has hired political consultant Sean McCaffrey, an experienced political strategist from Washington, D.C., to head day-to-day operations.
McCaffrey, 33, has worked in public affairs and politics since 1995. He most recently was senior vice president for the consulting firm Wilson Research Strategies.
McCaffrey will lead the Arizona GOP's day-to-day operations and focus on improving the party's voter-registration efforts, recruiting more precinct committeeman and helping with fundraising, the paper says. While McCaffrey has never been executive director for a state party, he was political director for the Washington State GOP. His issue advocacy efforts and voter targeting is credited with helping that state party make gains in the state Senate and in county offices across the state.
