The "conservative dad" who blogs at Red State Kids likes Fred Thompson's Senate voting record. He tallies up the votes and summarizes that Thompson "strongly opposes" abortion and same sex marriages; "strongly favors" school choice vouchersm gun rughts, and increased spending on the military; and "favors" affirmative action, teaching family values on school, privatizing Social Security, the death penalty, decreasing taes on the wealthy (and overall, I might add), free trade, and stricter limits on campaign funding. His source for the info: OnTheIssues.org
One thing I learned: Thompson voted for legislation before the Senate in 1998 that would have required a Senate super-majority in order to raise taxes. Fiscal conservatives will love that very Reaganesue view.
