I'll take "Not a Chance" for $100, Bob.

SmallGovTimes.com asks: Can Ron Paul Win in 2008?

Um. No.

And wishful thinking won't make it otherwise. And this is certainly wishful thinking:

As of now, Dr. Paul has much in common with another (physician) presidential candidate, Howard Dean, who used the Internet so effectively in 2004 that the Democratic establishment sandbagged his campaign, because the Democrat bosses did not want to have, in their view, another McGovern (anti-war) candidacy. Ironically, Dean is one of the country’s leading hawks, when it comes to Iran.

Currently, the Internet is abuzz about Ron Paul. As the year unfolds, if more and more young Republicans people gravitate toward the Paul campaign just as young Democrats did for Dean in 2004, the GOP establishment will be apoplectic.

Don't get me wrong. I like Ron Paul, though I disagree with him about the Iraq war. I like his principled stand on the constitution and his singular focus. But he's simply not going to win the nomination. I just don't see any mass migration of young Republicans to Ron Paul the way young Democrats flocked to Dean.

I disagree whereas Dean appealed to the young Ron Paul will also appeal to the elderly and more importantly all those with real American values. Comparing Dean to Paul is like comparing apples to oranges.

Ron Paul is for State Sovereignty. That is to say social issues such as abortions, gays, etc. regardless of Dr. Paul's personal views are issues that our federal government should not be deciding. These social issues make us collectively as a people "Britney Blind" on a national level. Our federal government needs to concentrate on the issues that affect the United States wholly on a world level diplomatically, economically, and defensively. Our State governments need to stand up to the plate and learn to govern and create laws for their constituents without a federal crutch and be the Republics they once committed to. This is all old school. Nothing new here. It's the plan for Freedom and Liberty USA style. Ron Paul, unlike the other candidates, would have us stick to this plan. What real American patriot wouldn't? I cannot even fathom where 4 more years of stay the course will bring us, but that is exactly what we will get without Ron Paul as president. We cannot afford to blindly look at the label (Republican, Democrat, etc.) without seeing the ingredients. Ron Paul's record speaks for itself.

It ain't the spring chickens that are supporting Paul. It's us old "angry white males" who actually believe the things we spout.

Better take a closer look at Paul. He's the real deal.
