A Republican named Thompson running for president says he'll win the Iowa Caucus next year, and become a "front-runner" in the presidential race. But, wait, you say, Fred Thompson hasn't even said if he's running, and yet he's predicting victory?
No, not Fred Thompson - former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson made that prediction about himself. RadioIowa.com reports...
Thompson has been in Iowa each weekend this year. "I've spent a lot of time and I have received a tremendous amount of encouragement from the people of Iowa ,especially the caucus-goers," Thompson says. Thompson describes himself as the underdog in the race for the Republican party's 2008 presidential nomination.
"And I don't mind that. That's the way I've always been," Thompson says. "But I also am telling you I'm doing more things better -- organizationally -- than any other candidate in Iowa." Thompson claims he's winning the ground game in Iowa because he's outlined specific proposals for dealing with Iraq and for reforming the U.S. health care system.
Of course, no candidate ever predicts he's going to lose.
Meanwhile, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback also tells RadioIowa.com that he's going to do well in Iowa and that his conservative credentials will eventually take hold with Iowa voters.

Personally I have taken the plunge and have taken the Independent path. I made the grandaddy of mistakes and voted for Bush. All I have to say is both sides of the isle, better watch out! The People have had just about enough and any politicians who ignores the majority, is washed up. The main contenders must be aware that voting for a corporate CARTEL immigration plan or the obnoxious North American Union, will be thrown to the wolves. Both agendas are connected and will be an attack on our great Nations sovereignty.
