Mike Allen at The Politico says that Mark Corallo of Corallo Comstock Inc., is one of the busiest men in Washington DC these days, and for good reason: Corallo, a media strategist and former Justice Department public affairs director, is the public voice of Fred Thompson’s prospective presidential campaign.
A few hours after The Politico reported on Wednesday morning that the actor and former senator was moving swiftly toward declaring his candidacy, Corallo e-mailed: “The response is unreal. Total explosion. Can’t keep up with the incoming. Received over 300 e-mails from people who want to contribute and/or volunteer. Drinking from the fire hose.”
Corallo said that by day's end, he had more than 500 inquiries.
The conventional wisdom was that Thompson's delayed entry into the race was going to make it tough for him to find enough campaign staff. I never bought into the CW.
