This is the Duncan Hunter installment of a series of 11 posts I am presenting today here at ElephantBiz.com surveying the social-media aspects of the websites of the 11 Republicans currently running for President. (See: "Grading the Candidates' Blogs.")
Hunter's campaign website, GoHunter08.com, looks pretty good, with a YouTube video box leading off the page for the latest video clip the Hunter campaign would like to share, and an issues poll - it's currently focusing on the immigration reform bill. The website is loaded with video clips from the debates, the news media and the campaign trail.
But while the campaign has created official pages on the Big Three of the social-media scene - MySpace, YouTube and FaceBook - there's no blog, no reach-out to the blogosphere at all.
What I'd add: For starters, a blog, a "Bloggers for Hunter" blogroll and sign-up widget, and ways for bloggers who back Hunter to add Hunter campaign images, news and donation boxes to their blogs.
Hunter, going nowhere in the polls, also might want to reach out to the blogosphere to give interviews to bloggers the way Mike Huckabee is doing.
In terms of effective and broad use of social media, I'd give the overall effort a grade of C-.
Update: For reviews of social media efforts of the other 10 Republican presidential candidates, see the list below:
