MSNBC's Kelly O'Donnell reports on the state of things inside the Fred Thompson campaign.
Advisors say although the Thompson team has a relationship with a pollster, a source says no polling or focus groups have been done yet unlike other campaigns. Advisors say the pollsters have other commitments they are wrapping up and the team has not firmed up what issues they want to take into the field. It could be weeks until they begin.
Advisors say two big jobs need to be filled. They need a Finance Director and Political Director. Others involved are handling those areas/tasks now and aides say it's "working." They are still at a stage where some titles and job descriptions have not been sorted out. They have added a "few low-level support people" and are bringing on communications help.
All still mum on the money raising results of the First Founders Group, a team of fund-raisers. Aides say they want to see the whole month of June's tally before they assess.
I bet his June fund-raising total beats Ron Paul's.

Haha, is that the line on the measuring stick for the Thompson fans, to beat Ron Paul in fundraising? My how things have changed. Fred is a career lobbyist and recent nationally known actor, if he can't beat Ron Paul in fundraising then his campaign is doomed for failure.
