
Actor and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson is second with 20 per cent, followed by Arizona senator John McCain with 14 per cent, and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney also with 14 per cent.
The poll surveyed 1,007 GOP-supporting voters.
Giuliani's support has dripped nine points since March and McCain's has dropped 10 points. Romney's support, according to the same poll, has actually risen six points.
Mired in single digits: Mike Huckabee at 3 percent, Ron Paul and Tommy Thompson at 2 percent, Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo at 1 percent, "other" at 1 percent, and "not sure" at 10 percent."
