President George W. Bush is eight times more popular than the Democratic-led Congress. Don Surber digs into the poll numbers, which show that the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi-lead surrender brigades are scraping the underside of the bottom of the barrel of public opinion precisely because what they are trying to do - force surrender in Iraq - is at odds with what most Americans want. The largest single group of Americans want Congress to fully fund the existing troop level with no date for withdrawal - in other words, they still want Congress to aim toward victory. Smaller numbers of Americans want troop levels reduced, or the war completely defunded now. They aren't getting what they want either.
Surber:
Congress has no mandate. No one likes them. They are the Jimmy Carters of Congresses.
The president still has his base because we know this mission must be accomplished — or else we die at the hands of those who want to kill all infidels.
But who is left to mourn the Democratic Congress? Not one.
If the past is any indication of today, lefties will lamely claim that the reason Congress is despised is that it has not impeached Bush. Everything, after all, is all George Bush’s fault.
The numbers show otherwise...
Indeed they do. President Bush is eight times more popular than the Reid/Pelosi Congress because he, unlike they, still wants to fight the enemy that is determined to kill us all.
Things keep going like this and sometime before the end of the year the media is going to start raising the possibility of the GOP regaining it majority in Congress.

Polls clearly show that Americans favor Democrats over Republicans in the 2008 elections. What does that tell you?
