This is astonishing. A writer for the leftwing Huffington Post is calling, essentially, for a military coup against President Bush. And he's serious.
You can relieve the President of his command. Not of his Presidency. But of his military role as Commander-In-Chief. You simply invoke the Uniform Code Of Military Justice.
As if the Constitution, which grants vests civilian control of the armed forces with the president, doesn't trump the UCMJ. Memo to the HuffPo writer: The president and the commander-in-chief are one and the same, and inseperable. No military officer has the authority to arrest the commander-in-chief or remove him from that role, period.
The open question: Will sane and responsible liberals denounce the Huffington Post for its seditious article? Or will the Kossacks embrace the call for a coup?
Ed Morrissey has a more detailed response to the latest insanity from the Left.

The "insanity" on the left is a direct response to the insanity and irresponsible policies of this reckless administration. While I don't agree with this particular tactic (impeachment would be better) at least they are putting all of the options on the table.
