Here's a quick presidential primary quiz for you:
True or False: Residents of New Hampshire will be the first to vote in a presidential primary in 2008.
False, believe it or not. New Hampshire's "First in the Nation" primary is scheduled for Jan. 29 (currently - but that could change). Tennessee's primary is scheduled for Feb. 5. But Tennessee allows "early voting" - the first ballots will be cast in Tennessee on Jan. 16, 2008 - two days after the Iowa caucuses and 13 days before New Hampshire's primary. Details in The Tennessean newspaper.
There's talk in New Hampshire of moving the state's primary to Jan. 22, or even earlier, thought that talk is related to recent decisions by other states to hold their primaries before New Hampshire's Jan. 29 date.
