First Look at Ron Paul's Image

Ron Paul is hitting the ground running in New Hampshire with a pair of ads that is part of a million dollar+ ad buy.

Ad #1:

Ad #2:

The ads aren't the best production/script quality, but they get the point across (maybe he had trouble hiring a reputable Republican media firm?). He references his opposition to the Iraq war in both, however a lot of emphasis is placed on fiscal issues, a winning issue in New Hampshire.

I expected him to come out with a background ("what I've done in my life") or pro-Republican talking point (pro-life, tax cuts, illegal immigration) ad(s) first to soften his image to the Republican electorate before hitting them with the "what I want to do" (which usually isn't effective if voters don't know who you are) and Iraq war opposition ad. New Hampshire, a state that didn't vote for President Bush in 2004 and who dumped its Republican Congressional delegation in 2006, still has a large voting bloc of loyal Republicans. However, it is one of the few early primary states where an anti-war message, even within the Republican Party, would resonate.

That second ad is probably the scariest thing I have seen in a long time. He basically proposes: 1. Cut and run in Iraq, 2. Pull our troops out of foreign nations (i.e. isolationism) and 3. Once we have done that, cut the military budget so that the budget can be balanced.

Is there anyone in the Republican primaries WORSE on securing our country?

Joel would rather stay in Iraq until the Chinese show up to repossess/buy all of our land when they cash in all of those Treasuries! 9 Trillion not enough debt for ya! Enjoy taxing people not even born yet? Even Gen. Petraues couldn't say our military interventionalism in Iraq was making us safer, because it is NOT! Do you want to be taxed to defend Germany, Japan, South Korea? Why should I PAY to protect them when I am leaving my own children drowning in debt? Ron Paul is the ONLY choice for anyone with the slightest amount of financial intelligence.

Per Jonathan Martin, Ron Paul's latest mail drop in South Carolina, interestingly, does not mention his opposition to the war in Iraq, the signature of his campaign: In fact, the piece touts at the top that Paul "Pushed for an... [Read More]
