From dabbling in politics to a little creative writing, and driven by an interest in economic and political development, John Xavier III was born.
I first got a taste of politics in my teen years working on campaigns with my grandfather, John Xavier, Sr. Spending weekends going door to door during the hot Primary Election months and into the cool General Election months, we helped get many a politician elected.
After graduating from high school, I was given the opportunity to manage the campaign of my second cousin, William, who had decided to run for State Representative. Unfortunately, this would prove to be my last foray into elective politics as we lost in the primary.
During college, my interest shifted to the role of media in politics. In addition to a driving force, I often found it to be out of touch with the realities on the ground and "slightly" biased. Concurrently, as I furthered my studies in history and economics, I began to realize the awesome power of the free market. Specifically, its ability to lift those less fortunate, both in the United States and abroad, out of poverty.
Today, the biggest issue facing our country is the 2008 election. We are at a critical point in history. The next President will be in the position to further the transition to democracy in Iraq, expand the gains of global trade to the developing world, and restore the Right to Life to the U.S. Constitution. The country is searching for a leader, our Party searching for its soul.
