A Ron Paul candidacy against Rudy Giuliani would give right-to-lifers a legitimate alternative. He would also take the libertarian segments of the Republican Party with him and could sell himself as the conservative alternative. As previous polls have indicated, a Giuliani candidacy fractures the Republican Party.
Against Hillary Clinton, he can out flank Clinton on the war because he was one of the original votes in Congress against it. He would also be the only general election candidate in favor of immediate withdrawal from Iraq. The anti-war movement could rally around him because they don't consider Clinton's neoconservative tendencies a viable compromise.
He already has a proven, loyal online organization that will follow him into the general election. And as we have previously noted, Paul is not above a third party candidacy.
But who would be his running mate?

Ron Paul can unite the anti-war movement and the pro-life movement under one tent.
That would be a pretty small tent considering the majority of Americans are pro-choice and anti-war.
Let's hope Ron Paul runs as independent, further fracturing the GOP.
