A tragedy hit the sports world today as Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor died today from a gunshot wound. He was 24 years old.
Taylor, who had a tumultuous past, was shot during an attempted robbery in his Miami home on Tuesday. He is survived by an 18-month-old daughter that had changed his life a year and half ago.
He was nicknamed "Meast" for "half-man, half-beast" for his hardhitting style - something many Washington politicos and reporters can relate to. He will be missed by politicos and sports fans alike.
The Redskins are a part of DC culture, and it pains the political world when one of our own is lost.
