First Read points to a new poll in South Carolina:
Romney 17%
Thompson 15%
Huckabee 13%
Giuliani 9%
Undecided 28%
This is bad news for the former front runners in the race, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. Romney is beginning to run into diminishing marginal returns here like in the other primary states, and Giuliani, who can't hide from his past, is beginning to become known to SC voters.
In the meantime, the two Southerners in the race have silently begun to come on strong. Thompson's rise likely fueled by advertising; Huckabee's by media momentum.
