Just a thought, how is this flag any different than the flag that was flown by the Nazis. They had an IDEA about how people should live just like the Confederates. It may be hard to accept the fact that a war was fought for a cause that was wrong, we were WRONG. I live in Texas as you do and I am very happy that we lost the war. We were WRONG and we deserved to lose. There is nothing to be proud of when you think about what our side was fighting for, superior race, PLEASE. It is good to know that people who fly this flag are marginalized and the world, not just the country, is moving towards a fair and equal place for all to live. I am even working on an anti-confederacy flag that hopefully many true Americans will fly (I know I will). Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing as long as someone doesn't burn a cross in my yard or beat the crap out of me. Some things are in the past and deserve to stay there. Just think, most Germans are not celebrating the achievements of Hitler and the flag of this devil is not flown proudly in Germany so why should we do this in our country. If we want to honor our dead, we should honor them but also accept that their ideology was WRONG. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that we were WRONG and just moving forward. It is hard enough to move forward today, God forbid that we had won and slavery had continued. Common sense, heritage is not worth digging up the past if what WE stood for what was an unfair and discriminatory policy. Throw away the flag and take an American stance to unite as Americans. Keep this in mind, I'm not even an African American and I feel this way, image what the average African American feels on this issue. Down with the Confederate Flag, down with bigotry and power to ALL the people. God bless the Confederate's worst nightmare, the American Constitution.
