Huckabee Subtlety
Per the AP:
Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks in an upcoming article, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"

The article, to be published in Sunday's New York Times Magazine, says Huckabee asked the question after saying he believes Mormonism is a religion but doesn't know much about it. His rival Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, is a member of the Mormon church, which is known officially as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A spokeswoman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said Huckabee's question is usually raised by those who wish to smear the Mormon faith rather than clarify doctrine.

Often Mormons will say that they believe in the same Jesus as standard Christianity. However, their leaders’ definition is very different. The current president of the Mormon Church, Gordon B. Hinckley, made a very telling comment about Jesus Christ in a talk in Geneva, Switzerland, June 6, 1998. The Deseret News reported: In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints "do not believe in the traditional Christ. No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fulness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages." (Deseret News, Church News section, Salt Lake City, Utah, week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7)
Mormonism teaches that somewhere in eternity past God and his wife first existed as mortals on a different earth, overseen by their Heavenly Father and Mother.

This mortal couple died, received resurrected bodies, and eventually achieved godhood. They then procreated the millions of spirit children that would be sent to this earth as mortals. Thus God is part of an eternal chain of gods procreating spirit children for different worlds. Joseph Smith preached:

God himself, was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!...it is necessary we should understand the character and being of God and how He came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 305)

The Mormon Church teaches that men, gods, angels and devils are all the same species. Thus both Jesus and Lucifer are literally our elder brothers. As men are viewed as being the same species as God and Jesus they have the same potential to achieve godhood.

LITERAL SON OF GOD
While Mormon leaders assert that they believe in the virgin birth they have changed the definition. The LDS Church teaches that God the Father has a physical, tangible, resurrected body and that God literally sired Jesus in the same physical sense that any other man begets a child. Consequently "the virgin birth" is redefined to mean Mary had intercourse with a god, not a mortal, in order to literally conceive the baby Jesus. In a 1916 doctrinal statement by the LDS First Presidency we read:

1. "Father" as Literal Parent ... God the Eternal Father, whom we designate by the exalted name-title "Elohim," is the literal Parent of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and of the spirits of the human race. Elohim is the Father in every sense in which Jesus Christ is so designated, and distinctively He is the Father of spirits. ... Jesus Christ is the Son of Elohim both as spiritual and bodily offspring; that is to say, Elohim is literally the Father of the spirit of Jesus Christ and also of the body in which Jesus Christ performed His mission in the flesh, and which body died on the cross and was afterward taken up by the process of resurrection, and is now the immortalized tabernacle of the eternal spirit of our Lord and Savior. (Encyclopedia of Mormonism, vol. 4, pp. 1670-1671)

Jesus According to the Bible
There is nothing in the Bible to indicate a physical relationship between God and Mary. Jesus’ conception is declared to be a miracle.
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Luke 1:30-35 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary...thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS....Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

The Bible declares that Jesus is fully God, not a subordinate deity. He eternally exists as God and is our creator.

John 1:1-4, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Colossians 1:16-17 For by him [Christ] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Mormonism tragically steals souls by making decent people think they believe in Christ and therefore have the gift of the Holy Ghost. None of them may have the Spirit of Christ because they do not believe in the Christ of the New Covenant.

Mormons reject the new covenant by insisting on old covenant institutions like temples, priesthood, and prophets, but most of all they forfeit the gift because they think that the works of the law will save them.

There are four major ways they try to live by the old Covenant of the law. Christ brought the new covenant of the Spirit and, of course, the Spirit is its great new feature. They insult Christ by accepting His Spirit but refusing to live by the Spirit. That's why Mormons don't have the Spirit and therefore will not be saved nor will they be heirs with Christ.

"None of them may have the Spirit of Christ because they do not believe in the Christ of the New Covenant." - This is where the problem lies. In 328AD, Constantine ordered the hundreds of bishops of the Christian church to come up with a common set of doctrines and choose a pope to be the head of the church. These bishops tore up anything that threatened their growing power base, much of which was true doctrine as taught by Christ himself. They chose a pope who was not ordained by Christ or any of his Disciples, and continued the fall of the church into apostasy. The church began to require people only obey the church, not to pray for revelation (they declared that there would be no more revelations), and things such as paying for repentance from the church came into being. No wonder there is a huge difference between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and other faiths. Only one of them teaches the doctrines given by Christ and the others teach doctrines created out of politics.

First the word "Mormon" is a nickname for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Second, there are about 6 million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the United States today, making us the fourth largest Christian denomination in America. Mike Huckabee is using this approach to draw the press away from his past performance as a Gov. I challenge anyone that wants to learn what members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly believe in to visit The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints web sit and research for themselves. As Americans we are to ask questions of our President on their stance on political, ethical, social, and character points of view. This country was founded on freedom of religion, the right for a person to believe what they believe. Comments made by some of your guest about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints being a "cult" are the things that lead to persecution. If you look back at the history of this Church, you can see that comments made by a few, taken out of context have lead to violence toward members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I agree that the Huckabee campaign has done a good job of keeping the American public away from his record and on this topic. It would be nice to see them debate the issues, and not religion.

Another rumor said that Huckabee told the state's parole board that he supported the release of a convicted rapist. There has been much dispute over it. I think it's rather obvious that Huckabee won the debate big. It's why he surged into first place in the polls. But I like his book" Character Makes a Difference" , which is the great insight into the life. I am impressed by his words.
