Per Jonathan Martin, John McCain is out with a negative mail piece in New Hampshire targeting Mitt Romney on immigration and his flip-flops. This increased spending in New Hampshire indicates that McCain is serious about trying to win the state. While he is unlikely to overtake Romney, if McCain is able to soundly beat Rudy Giuliani and come within a few points of Romney, he may be able to strike a Bill Clinton pose and proclaim himself the "Comeback Kid." We also expect that McCain will go negative on television against Romney sometime after Christmas.
