With 17 days to go until the Iowa caucus, Fred Thompson will kick off a bus tour of Iowa tonight.

Bus tours are a generally a good idea, because in addition to providing a rolling billboard, they generate a lot of precious local earned media.

He's scheduled to visit 24 cities including meeting with some local newspapers and radio stations. If you're in Iowa and want to go meet Thompson, you can see the full schedule of events here.
