Trust Huckabee, who recently launched an attack ad against Mitt Romney, is now making robo call against Romney in the state. Jonathan Martin sampled one of the calls:
The first question was whether I supported President Bush. (Wanting to answer in the way most Iowa GOP caucus-goers would, I said "yes.")
Then I was asked if I planned to vote in the caucuses (see above).
Next came a question about if my choices were between Mitt Romney, John McCain or Mike Huckabee whether I'd support Romney. (Wanting to see what message they were pushing against Huck's top rival here, I said "yes.")
With this response came forth the dirt.
"On the issue of life, if your choices are a president that has never wavered in protecting the unborn or a president that has changed his position from pro-abortion to pro-life to pro-abortion no fewer than five times in the last fifteen years, would you prefer a president that has never wavered from being pro-life?"
I said "yes."
"Does the fact that Mitt Romney has switched positions on abortion at least five times in the last fifteen years and that Mike Huckabee has always been pro-life make you more likely to consider supporting Mike Huckabee?"
I said "yes."
Next came questions about whether I had a favorable opinion of Sen. Tom Harkin, was male and 50 years of age or older.
"Thank you for your time and patience, goodbye."
And then the disclaimer.
Mike Huckabee and his camp may have disavowed the group, but if he does end up pulling out a caucus win, they will be one of the reasons why.
