
First Read has two new polls from the Northeast that signal trouble on the horizon for Rudy Giuliani:
New York:
McCain 36%
Giuliani 24%
Romney 10%
Huckabee 7%Connecticut:
McCain 39%
Giuliani 16%
Romney 11%
Both New York and Connecticut hold their contests on February 5th and award their delegates statewide winner-take-all. Giuliani had pinned his hopes of winning the nomination on a big state strategy; now it's beginning to look more and more like a Florida strategy.
These polls clearly reflect momentum rather than support. As First Read notes, a December poll of New York had Giuliani leading 48%-15%.
If these polls are any indicator, expect the results of Florida to significantly affect the dynamic of the Tsunami Tuesday states.
