
John McCain has cemented himself as the GOP front runner. While McCain's victory speech sounded like a coronation; this race is not yet over.
The primary now goes national. Mike Huckabee is a very real prospect in the South. And Mitt Romney's personal fortune still looms; which Romney has shown time and again means he cannot be counted out.
As McCain gave his victory speech, Florida Governor Charlie Crist stood behind him. He could be a strong national candidate. Were we seeing a snapshot of the future last night?
This has been quite a fall from grace for Rudy Giuliani who once occupied the top of the polls and once proclaimed himself the front runner. Everywhere he campaigned, he witnessed declining poll numbers. The trend must have perplexed his senior staff.
Mr. Giuliani's services are no longer required. We thank him for his service.
