Romney Goes Negative on Robo

Mitt Romney was blanketing Florida with negative robo calls over the weekend hitting John McCain. Script of a call from the weekend, per Jonathan Martin:

Hi, I'm calling on behalf of Mitt Romney.

You can learn a lot about a candidate by looking at their friends.

John McCain and Ted Kennedy wrote an amnesty bill.

And McCain teamed with another liberal Democrat to write campaign finance reform.

John McCain also joined with Democrats to vote against the Bush tax cuts.

And listen to what Bill Clinton said about John McCain just last week,

Bill Clinton audio: 'She and John McCain are very close. They always laughed that if they wound up being the nominees of their party, it would be the most civilized election in American history.'

No wonder former Senate Republican leader Rick Santorum said quote 'John McCain was not only against us, but leading the charge on the other side.'

Paid for by Romney for President.

These calls are an epidemic and are invading the privacy of All American Voters.

Our members are taking a stand and saying enough is enough at the National Political Do Not Contact Registry at StopPoliticalCalls.org.

Here is a quote from a member this morning:

“I will not vote for anyone that solicits me by costing me money! Every time I answer one of their stupid calls on my cell it cost me minutes and if I don't answer they just leave messages which cost money to listen to!!! I wish they would STOP!”

Heh, that's a nice way to build a political list, Shaun.

The likelihood of having a "political do not call list" enacted into legislation/upheld by a court is slim to none.

But if anyone wants to sign up for it, knock yourself out. I, personally, enjoy receiving calls from campaigns. Lets me know at least they are working.
