
The AP is reporting that Mitt Romney has won the Nevada Caucus. With 37.78% of precincts reporting:![]()
Romney 56.23%
McCain 12.26%
Paul 11.85%
Huckabee 7.52%
Thompson 7.33%
Giuliani 3.75%
Romney, now claiming wins in the west and rust belt, will likely expand his self financed effort for the nomination to the Tsunami Tuesday states.
Romney's success came with the help of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Only 7.5% of Nevada is Mormon, but 25% of Caucus goers identified LDS of whom 94% caucused for Romney. But this also means the success will be harder to to emulate in other states.
