Unlike in Iowa where the entire state voted simultaneously, the New Hampshire primary is a traditional election with the voting going on all day and the candidates campaigning at as many polling places that they can get a camera to cover them at.
At one location, Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani ran into each other:
“Mayor!” shouted Huckabee. “May I have your vote today?”
“I don’t think any of us can vote today,” replied Giuliani, laughing.
Huckabee shook the former mayor’s hand as he made a proposal: “Same day registration?”Patting Giuliani on the shoulder, Huckabee joked, “You know, we could bang on your car – that’d be a photo!”
“Ha!” said Giuliani. “See you in South Carolina…”
