The nation's capital heads to the polls today, and for Mike Huckabee it could be the final nail in the coffin for his campaign; or an unholy ressurection.
Although John McCain appears to have the Republican nomination wrapped up, Huckabee has made clear his intention to continue his campaign until all the delegates have been pledged.
Over the weekend, he won two out of three contests taking Kansas by a large margin and picking up Louisiana. The national media is giving him his face time; even though they have already largely written him off:
Huckabee's continued candidacy demonstrates the internal struggle within the Republican Party.
Social and Christian conservatives are rallying to his cause searching for a conservative alternative, and he has already proven that he is the Southern candidate. One has to wonder how differently things would have looked if Mitt Romney had not spent millions of his own dollars and dropped out of the race when it was clear he was not going to be the nominee.
Huckabee will soldier on with or without wins today; but the national media may not be as kind in helping him spread his message.
