
While I would disagree that their is an "alliance" between the two camps, both are playing to their candidates' strengths.
Romney used his money to stay competitive buying ground organizations and television advertising in key states such as California and Colorado. Meanwhile, Huckabee spent most of his time in the home region appealing to his base of voters.
John McCain capitalized on his momentum spending time in Massachusetts where he will embarrass Romney if he performs better than expected in the vote totals and delegate count. Voters there know both well. They still remember McCain's New Hampshire win and the television advertising in the Boston market. They also remember Romney's disavowal of the state as his home state.
