
All the world's a stage, and Mitt Romney used his remarks to CPAC today to withdraw from the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.
Romney stressed that his campaign won nearly as many states as John McCain, but that "size does matter," and it was unconceivable that he could win the nomination. He bowed out with grace and civility.
Compared to Rudy Giuliani's withdrawal where it was clear that Giuliani was auditioning for Vice President; Romney made it clear that he is still interested in the top job and that he will be the first candidate in the next Republican Presidential primary.
Tensions during the campaign ran high, and there was no love lost between John McCain and Romney. Romney's speech did not embrace John McCain, but rather embraced the conservative ideals that McCain has been at odds with in the past.
And then there were two. And Ron Paul.
