The Biz Predictions: Tsunami Tuesday

usaflag.jpgAfter tonight, voters in more than half of the states in the country will have cast their votes for the nominees of their respective Parties. This is the closest thing we will have to a national election for the primaries.

When this race started more than a year ago, most Americans thought that their vote would not matter on this day and that the race of nominee would be determined by Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina; like it had in year's past.

But today, voters in the across the nation go to the polls; and their votes actually matter.

Today we turn to calling Tsunami Tuesday. Feel free to post your picks in the comments section and join us in live chat tonight!

(Instead of picking percentages, we will pick the winner and first loser from each state. Winner is defined as walking away the most delegates; for winner take all states we will only pick the winner.)

Alabama (open primary)
Huckabee
McCain

Alaska (closed caucus)
McCain
Romney

Arizona (presidential preference election, WTA)
McCain

Arkansas (open primary, WTA if 50%+1)
Huckabee

California (closed primary)
McCain
Romney

Colorado (closed caucus)
Romney
McCain

Connecticut (closed primary, WTA)
McCain

Delaware (closed primary, WTA)
McCain

Georgia (open primary)
McCain
Huckabee

Illinois (open primary)
McCain
Romney

Massachusetts (open primary)
Romney
McCain

Minnesota (open caucus)
Romney
McCain

Missouri (open primary, WTA)
Huckabee

Montana (invited caucus, WTA)
Romney

New Jersey (open primary, WTA)
McCain

New York (closed primary, WTA)
McCain

North Dakota (closed caucus, WTA)
Romney

Oklahoma (closed primary)
Huckabee
McCain

Tennessee (open primary)
Huckabee
McCain

Utah (open primary, WTA)
Romney

West Virginia (multiple ballot convention, WTA)
Huckabee

Storyline: "McCain carries the most number of states; but fails to win a majority of them. However, he emerges as the clear front runner. Huckabee's assertion that Romney is taking votes from him is vindicated in the exit polls."
