In town auditioning for the Vice Presidential spot for the National Governor's Association Winter Meeting, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin sat down with the Fix and discussed her home state, her Party, and the future. The full interview is worth a watch.
Palin makes an intriguing candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States.
Palin represents a new generation of Alaksa politicians. At 42, her youth would make her a good counterpoint to Barack Obama. Likewise, as a woman and Feminist, she would be a good balance to Hillary Clinton. She has a bit of a progressive streak. She believes in human caused global warming and has supported initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Alaska. Additionally, she has supported extending benefits to same-sex couples.
She is also a spending hawk and has vetoed over 300 construction and road projects during her first term. On social issues, she is a strong supporter of the right to life and opposes homosexual marriage.
