Barack Obama gave an impressive speech today addressing the comments by his pastor which have dominated the news cycle for the last week. Joe Scarborough and Nancy Giles discussed Race in America following the speech:
The purpose of the speech by Obama was to attempt to move the news cycle past Rev. Wright's comments and to move the general discussion of the election past race. The last thing Obama wants his candidacy to be about is race. The contentiousness of the above discussion and the valid points made by both Scarborough and Giles demonstrates why this is true.
