Bobby Jindal is the first term Governor of Louisiana and first Indian-American governor in the country. Prior to being elected Governor, Jindal served two terms representing Louisiana's first Congressional district.
Jindal would appeal to the conservative base who is still wary of McCain. Jindal has a stronger record than McCain on the right to life and voted with the Republican caucus 97% of the time during the 109th Congress. Additionally, at 36 years old he would add some youth to the ticket.
Jindal matches up best against Barack Obama. He is young and represents the next generation of politicians with new ideas. Also, as he is an ethnic minority he would help counteract the symbolism of Obama's candidacy.
Against Hillary Clinton, the Republicans can sell him as the next generation of Washington; similar to the image Obama is using in the Democratic primary right now.
While his lack of experience is an issue and potential weakness to his candidacy, his generation of Republican politicians are the future of the Party.
