Today marks the 40th anniversary of the assassination of a true American philosopher, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Alveda King, the niece of Dr. King, reflects on her family and the modern Civil Rights movement:Dr. King ushered in a new era of thinking in America. To those of us born after his death; we do not look at people based on the color of their skin, but rather on who they are as a person and their record.
But the fight for true equality is not done. Just as white Americans used to view black Americans as less than human; so too, today, do living Americans view unborn Americans as less than human. And as a result, history has repeated itself. Everyday, more than 4000 Americans are denied their right to life as a result of an abortion.
We must never forget Dr. King's legacy and his fight for true equality and human rights.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Um! 40 years Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has left us! He is without a doubt one of the most influential and pivotal figures in twentieth-century history! I think it's never a bad idea to honor the civil rights leaders and martyrs by reading literature that would again remind us of their struggle. His own words gives such insight into the man and the contribution he made to civil rights. Absolutely powerful words: http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=96325&ru=279
