The House voted yesterday to stall a vote on passage of the Colombia Free Trade Agreement until after November. This is yet another example of the Democratic Congress putting politics before what is best for the country.
The reason they will not bring it to a vote right now is because they want to save Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton from having to vote on the issue. The less of a record they have on the issue, the easier it will be for them to flip flop in the general election. The Democratic primary electorate is economic populist; the United States is not.

The agreement will undoubtedly pass at the end of next year when it does finally come to a vote. And if either Democrat does win the presidency, you will most likely see a continuation of the "Bush trade policies."
